Why You Must Fail In Business In Order To Succeed

Author: Michael Senoff

Do you ever feel like you're just a miserable failure in business? Like nothing is going right? Like maybe you should give it all up and get a 9-5 job?

Well, you're not alone. In fact, in my consulting practice I talk to a lot of people like that. People who have lost their confidence, always dwelling on their failures, ready to give up.

And you know what I tell them?

The past has nothing to do with today. It just doesnt. Its history, and I know sometimes its easier thinking about the past and failures and things like that, but the bottom line is theres not one company out there that didnt have failures.

In fact, if youre not willing to fail, big success aint going to happen. That is a prerequisite of success in anything.

A lot of people dont know that. They think if they fail, theyre a loser and that theyre not doing it right, but you have to pay your dues. Youve got to be willing to stick it out, get knocked down and get back up and try again.

Years ago I talked with this multi-millionaire (I call him "Mr. X") and he talked about his failures. I think hes a Vietnamese guy. Im not exactly sure where hes from, but hes a multi-millionaire in some big radio, cellular phone technology industry. And he said he never would have gotten where he is today if he hadn't had massive failures.

So youve got to fail. If you're not failing then you're not even close to really succeeding.

Keep that in mind the next time you blow a deal or something beyond your control screws up some aspect of your business. This whole game of business is mostly attitude and confidence. Think of yourself as a success and you will eventually be one.

Especially if you're failing.
