First, let's talk about something that MOST people will never admit to being: SHY... Shy (adjective): Nervous or timid in the company of other people. Retiring or reserved. Recent studies have found that more than 40% of people are shy. Thats almost 1 in 2. Given those numbers, Im guessing that some of you can relate to being shy in social situations. Dont worry, Ive been there too. I remember having the desire to meet new women and expand my social circle, but not being anywhere near the outgoing, social and confident person that I am today. Picture this: You are in a social environment with a friend. Other people are chatting amongst themselves in groups. It seems as though EVERYONE has someone to talk to. But sometimes, even when you are with friends, you feel a little alone. Attractive women catch your interest everywhere. You want to meet them. ...but you are too shy. You want to know how to overcome your shyness with women. ...but you not really sure if it's 'cool' to learn about it from The Modern Man. So, you put it off. Your friend: Why dont you just go over and talk to her? and you reply with something along the lines of: - She probably has a boyfriend. - Nah, Im not in the mood. - I dont know what to say. - Im too tired. Does every girl have a boyfriend and are you really that tired? Come on. How DO you overcome your shyness around women? The first step is to ACKNOWLEDGE it. But the act of acknowledging it isnt going to fix it. No. You need to address your mindsets about socializing. The way you THINK about socializing and meeting women is very, very important. Some people refer to it as having inner game. We refer to it as having good personal psychology. Terms aside, lets help you by looking at another interesting finding from the studies conducted on shyness Next to strangers, it was the opposite sex who MOST made the shy person feel shy. Interesting... Yet, whats even MORE interesting is that both men AND women were in the study. What does that tell you? Newsflash: Most WOMEN are shy too. Youre not alone. Picture this: You are in a social environment and can see attractive women everywhere. Most of them are sticking to their group and chatting away. Tell me... Would you have ever guessed that approximately 1 in 2 of those women are SECRETLY shy about meeting people from the opposite sex? Well, according to a number of extensive studies on the subject of shyness THEY ARE. Remember that the next time you go out and are too shy to approach a woman. Remember that she is MOST LIKELY shy as well. Lets add some more fuel to the fire... Women want to be women; they DONT want to be men. Okay, some women dont want to be women but lets not get caught up with whats happening on the other side of the fence! MOST women dont want to be men. What do I mean by that? In a nutshell, most women want to play the FEMININE role in a male/female sexual courtship. They YEARN for a guy to come along and be a man by taking the lead and making things happen for the two of them. Sipping away at their drinks, the guys huddle together with their males buddies and LOOK at the women. Hours pass...nothing happens. A few more drinks...still nothing. Time to go home fellas? Yeahthis place is dead. Lets spilt. If you dont overcome your shyness with women, then you will have to rely on the slight possibility of getting lucky once in a blue moon. But you want more than that, right? Good. Here are a few helpful tips on how to overcome your shyness around women: 1. Dont be too serious about it all.
